Sorry Intel Doesnt Deserve The Benefit Of The Doubt

Sorry, Intel Doesn't Deserve the Benefit of the Doubt

Intel's string of broken promises

Intel has been promising for years that it will catch up to rivals TSMC and Samsung in the race to develop and manufacture the most advanced chips.

But the company has repeatedly broken those promises.

In 2015, Intel said it would be producing 10nm chips by 2017.

That deadline was pushed back to 2019.

And then to 2021.

Now, Intel says it will finally start producing 10nm chips in 2023.

Intel's problems are deeper than just manufacturing

Intel's problems go beyond just manufacturing delays.

The company has also been losing market share to rivals.

In 2017, Intel had a 90% share of the PC chip market.

By 2020, that share had fallen to 80%.

And it is expected to continue to decline in the years to come.

Intel needs to change its ways

Intel needs to make some major changes if it wants to remain a major player in the chip industry.

The company needs to invest more in research and development.

It needs to improve its manufacturing processes.

And it needs to find ways to compete with rivals on price.

If Intel can't make these changes, it is likely to continue to lose market share and fall behind its rivals.
